“Ashok Vatika Project” is our tree planting project — where we plant, nurture and celebrate trees. It is our recently launched program – launched on 18th January 2022.

We plant trees (both fruit trees and native trees) in schools, colleges, parks, prisons etc. We also have a ” Sponsor a Tree” scheme, where we plant trees on your behalf and send you a colourful certificate with a personalised message. You can sponsor trees in memory or in celebration of friends, family members and loved ones.

The merit of planting more and more trees cannot be overstated. Each part of a tree serves and provides.  Trees help to clean the air we breathe, by absorbing harmful gases / pollutants and releasing clean oxygen for us to breathe. Trees play a key role in capturing rainwater and reducing the risk of natural disasters like floods and landslides. Trees have a role in preventing soil erosion. Trees sustain biodiversity. A single tree can be home to many species of insects, fungi, mammals, and plants. Trees help cool our planet by absorbing harmful greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide – and releasing oxygen into the atmosphere. In cities, trees can reduce ambient temperatures by up to 8° Celsius. With increasing deforestation and urbanisation, pollution and overheating are a real threat. A mature tree can absorb an average of 22lbs of carbon dioxide per year. And food-producing trees provide yummy fruits, nuts and berries!!

Our aim is to plant more and more trees – to increase awareness on our connectedness to nature and why planting trees is so important.
