HANUMAN – THE PERSONIFICATION OF PERFECT MIND

Hanuman is depicted as a monkey. In Hindu symbolism, a monkey represents the human mind, which is always anxious, jumping from one thought to another. Controlling what is happening in the outside world is impossible, but with practice, one can control one’s own mind. The human mind can be controlled by fixating it on one thought, one purpose and always remembering it. As per the Hindu symbolism, there is no objective world.  The manifested world is subjective in nature and depends upon our interpretation and view of it. What looks like a huge problem to one, may look like a small problem to another. What is of no value to one may be of great value to another. As humans, we have the unique ability to mould our minds. Humans can change the way they perceive life. By changing our perceptions of life, we have the power to change the world we live in, what we see as our reality. Hanuman is a symbol of controlling the mind by fixating it on one thought and purpose — which is serving Shri Ram and always remembering Him. Hanuman is a symbol of the perfect mind, which is able to use its abilities to the fullest by employing them to service, thus meeting great opportunities, success and contentment.
