WHO IS HANUMAN ?

Hanuman is a Hindu monkey god. He is one of the central characters of the Hindu epic Ramayana. He is also mentioned in many other texts such as the epic Mahabharata and the various Puranas. Hanuman is known by many different names like Pavanputra, Anjaneya, Bajrangbali, Maruti Nandan etc. There are 108 names of Hanuman with different meanings. Hanuman is an ardent devotee of Shri Ram. He is worshiped as a symbol of wisdom, physical strength, courage, devotion, service, perseverance and self- discipline. Hanuman is one of the most popular gods among Hindus. Hanuman has a unique combination of Bhakti (devotion) and Shakti (power and strength). Gada (Mace) is the weapon used by Hanuman. Gada consist of a heavy spherical head mounted on a long shaft.
